Thank you for your support of PG Caring For Kids Event

Good evening,

On behalf of the Punta Gorda Kiwanis Club, I would like to sincerely thank you for your support of our “Caring For Kids” event. Your partnership played an important role in making this year’s event one of our most successful to date.

We welcomed over 40 cars to the show and received a record number of donated items to support students across Charlotte County. As a result, we were able to distribute 19 bags of socks, underwear, and essential items to eight local schools:

Charlotte High School
Punta Gorda Middle School
Charlotte Harbor School
East Elementary
Sallie Jones Elementary
Peace River Elementary
Neil Armstrong Elementary
Liberty Elementary

These contributions will have a direct and meaningful impact on hundreds of students in our community. While our initial request focused on children’s sizes, the additional adult-sized items provided tremendous support to our middle and high school students, who were especially grateful.

The Caring For Kids initiative includes two phases of giving. The first phase—completed today—focused on distributing the donated items. The second phase will take place at the start of the 2026–2027 school year, when additional essential supplies, including clothing, hygiene products, and personal care items, will be distributed using funds raised through this event.

We are truly grateful for your commitment to our community and for helping us make a difference in the lives of local students. Your support demonstrates the powerful impact businesses can have when we work together.
